The Stranger was suspicious
By Madeleine DeJesu
On a cool summer night I decided to go take a walk. It started to get a little eerie out all of the sudden. The summer sun was setting in the west and the sky turned into a sunburst of colors and then a couple minutes later it went dark. I started to here the owls and the trees blowing in the breeze. Then when I was walking down the street I noticed a dark figure a couple feet ahead of me. The dark figure was walking a little bit slower than I was so I knew I had to pass it. When I got closer I noticed it was a man probably in his mid twenties. He looked kind of tired and pale. He stopped and asked me a question. When I looked at him he had dark circles around his eyes and very, very pale skin. His hair was all messy and he was wearing a nice white button down shirt and black pants. He seemed kind of suspicious. He looked kind of scared, nervous, and sad about something. He asked me which way was it to the nearest highway was. But I told him that he was on the highway. He said “o” with a sad and scratchy voice, and then he just kept on walking. The stranger was very suspicious and it scared me a little and I turned around to go home very fast. I looked back around and then he was gone. That freaked me out even worse. I told my sister about it and she told me that someone died from a hit and run on the highway. She told me that he probably had to deal with the mob or something similar to it. She said he was in his mid twenties and he was killed from gun shots. My face turned white and I never went on that road again.
